Monbukagakusho Program Research Student 2008
The Embassy of Japan has begun offering scholarships to Indonesian students who wish to study at Japanese universities as research students for the academic year 2008 under the Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) scholarship program. Any grantee who desires to enroll in a regular graduate course (a masterĂ¢€™s course, a doctoral course or a professional graduate course) after studying as a research student or to move on from a masterĂ¢€™s course or a professional graduate course to a doctoral course must pass an entrance examination given by the university concerned.
Applicants must have the following qualifications (among others) :
1. Applicants must have been born on or after April 2, 1973.
2. Applicants must have received from their university a GPA of 3.0 or higher or must have achieved a total score of 260 or higher in 2 subjects (except the subject of Japanese) in the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU).
3. a minimum TOEFL score of 550 or equivalent or The Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 2 or higher
Application forms are available free of charge at the Embassy of Japan (Education Section: 8:30-12:00, 14:00-15:30), the Consulates General of Japan in Surabaya, Medan and Makassar and are also available on the Embassy of Japan website. The application documents must be submitted to the Embassy of Japan by May 11, 2007. Applications will be accepted by hand or by post.

The Graduate School of Engineering Science
Osaka University aims to acquire a good international reputation through increased involvement in the exchange of students and/or researchers and in joint research projects. It’s called Engineering Science 21st Century” Program! “Engineering Science 21st Century” is a special program taught in English for Master’s and/or Doctoral Courses.
The Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University had launched the special English taught course for foreign students who have no accessibility of Japanese.
These Programs as follow:
1. Special Program of “Engineering Science 21st Century” for Master’s and Doctoral Courses Taught in English for enrollment in April 2009
2. Special Program of “Engineering Science 21st Century” for Master’s and Doctoral Courses Taught in English for enrollment in October 2009
3. Special Program of “Engineering Science 21st Century” for Master’s and Doctoral Courses Taught in English for enrollment in October 2009 (Sponsored by Japanese Government Scholarship)
Students are trained and supervised with the use of English so that the students are not requested to learn Japanese to take their Master’s/Doctoral degree.
Applicants are requested to submit enclosed application forms by registered mail (EMS) to the office of Graduates Section, Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University, not later than 19th of December 2008 for enrollment in April (Non-sponsored) and in October (Sponsored by Japanese Government Scholarship), and not later than 31st of July 2009 for enrollment in October (Non-sponsored).
For any matters concerning admission, please contact to the Graduates Section below by e-mail. In this case, you would be advised to write titles of emails, Application form for Master’s / Doctoral course, so that we cannot accidentally delete your e-mails.
